Itacho Value Meals

Closure notice: Itacho Sushi has closed in Singapore. All outlets closed in March 2026, so nothing on this page can be ordered today. This page is a historical menu archive with dated guide prices, kept for reference.

Read this first: Itacho Sushi closed all four of its remaining Singapore outlets, at ION Orchard, Bugis Junction, Square 2 and The Star Vista, after 17 years in Singapore, according to Eatbook on 16 March 2026. You cannot order these value meals in Singapore now. The prices below are historical diner reports, kept so you can see what good value used to look like here.

Itacho built its name on a simple promise: decent sushi without a painful bill. That promise showed up clearest at lunch, when set meals bundled a main with soup, pickles and small sides for a price that made sense in a mall. This page collects those value picks, shows where reports disagree, and avoids pretending the numbers are more solid than they are.

What Counted as an Itacho Value Meal?

A value meal at Itacho was usually a lunch set, not a named “value menu” item. No official value menu could be found for this article, so be wary of any page that claims otherwise.

What diners actually described was a main, often a don or a grilled fish rice set, served with miso soup and small sides. One ION Orchard reviewer put it plainly: lunch sets at about SGD 15++ were particularly worth the money, and a katsu pork with udon lunch set, with pickles, chawanmushi and salad, cost about SGD 16++. That is the shape of Itacho value, a complete small meal, not just a cheap single sushi piece.

Sakura Don, the Classic Budget Pick

The Sakura Don comes up in report after report, and it is the clearest example of why you need to check dates on old prices.

Sakura Don, the Classic Budget Pick
Sakura Don, diced fish, tamago and cucumber on rice, as described in diner reports.

An older OpenRice review describes the Sakura Don at SGD 9.90, with diced tamago, assorted fish and Japanese cucumber on rice, served with miso soup. A later Burpple report at Jewel Changi Airport lists the same dish at SGD 11, and calls the portion substantial for the price. Both reports agree it was good value, but they disagree on price, and that gap is exactly what happens when a dish survives across years of menu changes.

Weekday Lunch Sets

Weekday lunch was where the best value hid, according to a TripAdvisor report from Plaza Singapura.

Weekday Lunch Sets
Weekday lunch sets typically paired a grilled main with miso soup.

That report says the outlet had numerous lunch sets for weekdays only, excluding public holidays, each around SGD 14 including miso soup, with a soft drink around SGD 2 extra when ordering a set. The reviewer ordered a grill mackerel (saba fish) rice set at SGD 11. Again, the date matters: this is a 2018 report, so treat SGD 11 and SGD 14 as period prices, not as prices you would have paid in the chain’s final years.

The “++” warning

Several figures above carry “++”, meaning the price was before GST and service charge. A SGD 16++ lunch set cost noticeably more at the till. Any guide that quotes these figures without that warning is understating the real bill, so this page keeps the “++” visible.

How Did Diners Get the Best Value at Itacho?

The pattern across reports is consistent, and it is worth spelling out for anyone hunting the same kind of value elsewhere.

How Did Diners Get the Best Value at Itacho?
Lunch sets, not single pieces, were where Itacho value lived.

First, go at lunch on a weekday, when set pricing applied. Second, pick a don or a rice set over ordering single sushi pieces one by one, because single pieces added up fast, and one TripAdvisor reviewer warned that small promotion portions could push the bill high. Third, watch the rotating promotions, since Itacho was known for half-price items such as salmon with soy sauce, though those came with limits, like two pieces per person in one report, and the quality of promo pieces divided opinion. A cheap piece is only good value if you actually enjoy eating it.

Finally, do not confuse a low sticker price with a low bill. The “++” surcharges, plus drinks and extra pieces, were where a SGD 11 lunch could drift toward SGD 25 per person, which matches the Burpple typical-spend figure.

Can I still get Itacho value meals in Singapore?

No. Eatbook reported on 16 March 2026 that all four remaining Singapore outlets had closed. This page records historical value, it is not a live ordering guide.

What was the cheapest Itacho lunch?

The Miso Beef Tendon Stew with Rice was reported at SGD 8.80, and the Sakura Don at SGD 9.90 in an older report and SGD 11 in a later one. The Sakura Don conflict shows why dates matter on old prices.

Did Itacho have an official value menu?

No live official Singapore value menu could be found. This page is built from diner reports and third-party guides, and says so plainly.

Was Itacho cheap overall?

At lunch, yes, relative to mall sushi. A typical spend of around SGD 25 per person, per Burpple, shows it was not the cheapest sushi in Singapore, but the lunch sets were widely seen as fair value.

Honesty note: No official Itacho Singapore value menu could be verified live. Prices here are diner reports from different years, shown with conflicts intact. No ratings, nutrition figures or test claims are made on this page.
